Summary:
With Web3 Family, in 1.5 years we run 30 events and reached +1K members, making us the most active in-person crypto community in Spain.
We’re a project in early stage with low fund and a tiny team: only 1.5 year old, 1 solo founder, everything bootstrapped. We’re still testing assumptions, building up experience and reputation.
We document our events & progress by posting them on publicly available platforms, along with pictures and videos:
- events Web3 Family | Meetup
- vids https://www.youtube.com/@web3family
- anns, pics & stories https://www.instagram.com/web3.family/
- important announcements Web3 Family

We video record talks during our conference and meetups: https://www.youtube.com/@web3family/videos
Conference tickets are very affordable, from 19.90 to 39.90 euros. We aim to be financially inclusive, with this pricing attendees can purchase a ticket from their own funds if needed.
For this conference edition, we secured 25+ speakers. From teams of Ethereum Foundation, Polygon Labs, and Solana Foundation, Lido, Gnosis, Blockdaemon, and more.
Our main objectives are to 1/ educate & raise awareness, 2/ grow the local community, 3/ connect local+international talents and projects.

Describe what your project does or is aiming to do in 50 characters or less:
Web3FC is a chain-agnostic conference. In this edition, we will welcome 250+ participants. With activities such as Talks, Panels, Workshops & Public Debates.
If available, please enter a link to your project below:
How far along are you?:
The conference is in 4 weeks. On September 22-23rd 2023. We got everything lined up, just need a little push on sponsorship. It ain’t much but it’s honest work.
Why did you pick this idea to work on? Do you have domain expertise in this area? How do you know people need what you’re making?:
Since 2018 I run 60+ in-person web3 events
It was time to take on a bigger challenge and put together a 2nd conference, a bit larger this time.
What’s new about what you’re making? What substitutes do people resort to because it doesn’t exist yet (or they don’t know about it)?:
We’re a very organic community, started from zero with many meetups and zero funding.
We’re a “speakers first” conference. We curate speakers, then pick topics together with them.
We’re chain agnostic, it does not mean that anything goes. We select chains featured, the unofficial key criterion is that the chain must have some traction: some devs building on top of it, some TVL, etc. TLDR: we avoid ghost chains
What’s your vision for how your project will impact The Graph and/or web3?:
The Graph can get exposure to and visibility in one of the most popular grassroots community in Spain. This means new users among other things. I already shared your job boards in our community chat for instance, I see here a clear mutual opportunity here for both our community and The Graph.
Web3 as a whole is already impacted by our work. With 30 events in 1.5 years we’ve fostered new relationships, new collaborations, raised awarness about web3, educated many people, created a lot of video content of quality, and interacted with audiences of various genders/races/religions/countries. These are only some of the positive outcomes.
How will you measure success?:

Can you share any information about current/past web3 experience?:
I am a power contributor in any project I am part of. The public proof of that claim can be 1/ the 60+ events i have run since 2018, 2/ the 80 write ups I have published, 3/ my atypical professional journey. I enjoy being part of a team, especially if that team is strong. But I also enjoy working alone & have the full responsibility of my successes and failures.
Since 2018 I run 60+ in-person web3 events
My professional journey in the crypto industry started in January 2018. Prior to my career in crypto I was a programmer for 8 years. I am a totally self-taught Web3 professional. I worked in all sizes of organizations, from small 2-person startups to large organizations. And that across many fields and positions: analyst for a VC, comms lead for an infra project (aleph.im), ecosystem lead for a blockchain4good project, CMO for a NFT project, tokenomics expert for a consulting startup, and lately for Ledger building their Ambassador Program.
Why are you interested in contributing to The Graph and/or web3?:
The Graph is one of the most iconic project in the space. It’s had tremendous impact, has a great reputation and its values totally align with ours.
Web3 is an unavoidable technological revolution that passionate for years now. I wish to bring a healthy contribution to the ecosystem by bringing quality web3 events in the city I live. In-person events have tremendous value. They change career paths, educate, and create extremely sticky relationships.
