How far along are you?:
Self-funded (1M+)
1 week ago launched a private beta
Onboarding first projects and ambassadors

Why did you pick this idea to work on? Do you have domain expertise in this area? How do you know people need what you’re making?:
We chose to work on this idea because we recognized a critical need within the blockchain ecosystem for a comprehensive platform that empowers communities, particularly ambassadors, and project managers. Our team possesses domain expertise in community management, marketing, and blockchain technology, which uniquely positions us to address these challenges.

Our confidence in the demand for our platform is reinforced by extensive market research, engagement with blockchain communities, and feedback from potential users and partners.

Furthermore, our close collaboration with the Oasis, Azuro, Solcial, XAI, SUI and other portfolio companies and the positive response we have received from early discussions with their communities, validate the strong demand for the solutions we are developing. We are committed to meeting this demand and enhancing the blockchain experience for all stakeholders.

What’s new about what you’re making? What substitutes do people resort to because it doesn’t exist yet (or they don’t know about it)?:
Our project aims to be the all-in-one solution that streamlines these processes, eliminates the need for multiple tools, and provides a unified, user-friendly platform. By offering this integration and comprehensive approach, we aim to fill the existing gap and provide The Graph community with a more efficient, effective, and user-focused solution for community empowerment, governance, and marketing.

What’s your vision for how your project will impact The Graph and/or web3?:
Our vision for our project within The Graph and the broader Web3 ecosystem is to serve as a catalyst for community growth, decentralized governance, and effective marketing. We envision our platform as a cornerstone that significantly enhances the way projects and communities interact and thrive in the decentralized web.

Community Empowerment: We aspire to empower community members and ambassadors by providing them with the tools and resources needed to contribute meaningfully to The Graph ecosystem. This empowerment will foster a sense of ownership and engagement, ultimately leading to a stronger and more vibrant community.

Decentralized Governance: We aim to facilitate transparent and efficient governance processes within The Graph by offering governance tools that empower decision-makers and enable community-driven decision-making. This enhances the project’s sustainability and adaptability.

Effective Marketing: Our platform equips projects within The Graph with the means to effectively market their initiatives, products, and services. By streamlining marketing efforts and providing data-driven insights, we help projects reach a wider audience and achieve their goals.

Enhanced User Experience: Through integration and comprehensive functionality, we seek to simplify and improve the user experience for community members and project managers within The Graph. This will make it easier for users to engage, contribute, and benefit from the ecosystem.

Community Collaboration: We envision our project as a hub for collaboration and knowledge sharing within The Graph. It will serve as a central meeting point where community members can connect, learn, and work together on projects that advance the ecosystem.

In summary, our vision is to significantly impact The Graph and the Web3 space by fostering a more engaged, empowered, and efficient community. We believe that by addressing key challenges and providing comprehensive solutions, we can contribute to the long-term sustainability and success of The Graph and the broader Web3 ecosystem.

How will you measure success?:
The success metrics for our project are multifaceted, encompassing several key areas:

User Engagement: We consider increased user activity, prolonged retention rates, and a higher frequency of interactions with our platform as clear indicators of success. A thriving and engaged user base is fundamental to our mission.

Community Growth: Success is evident in the expansion of blockchain communities we support. Metrics such as the growth in the number of registered ambassadors, projects onboarded, and the proliferation of user-generated content demonstrate our effectiveness in building and nurturing these communities.

Quality Contributions: We measure success through the quality and relevance of user-generated content and project contributions. Content that educates, promotes, and adds value, as well as contributions that demonstrate a high level of expertise, underscores our project’s impact.

These success metrics collectively define our project’s progress and impact within the blockchain ecosystem. Our aim is to continuously monitor and improve upon these metrics, ensuring that we not only meet but exceed the expectations of our target users and stakeholders.

What milestones will you achieve in the coming weeks/months, with or without the grant?:
Within three months of proposal approval, our objectives are as follows:

1)Recruit 200 high-quality, pre-selected ambassadors.

  1. Host 2-3 Twitter Spaces sessions or one on-site event, with a minimum of 50 attendees.

Thank you for the proposal!
Just have some questions.

Are you saying that you want to launch your own Graph ambassador program? As you said funds will be allocated to content creation, articles, etc.
This is similar to what Graph Advocates around the world are doing.

How will the recruitment of the 200 high-quality ambassadors happen?

Apologies, if I have misunderstood.

I have voted No on this proposal because it looks more of a separate DAO building community grant who will recruit their own ambassadors that doesn’t seems to be an efficient approach in the Graph ecosystem :slightly_smiling_face:

Greetings!

Thank you so much for finding the interest to apply for the grant program! I have a few questions that I would like to discuss and possibly clarify:

To begin with, what is the value of this proposal specifically to The Graph? Or for the DAO? From what I have seen and tested, there are quite a few analogues that could replace what you are proposing.

For example, if we are talking about quests, it could be DeWork (which we are currently using) or Zealy for example. They are free and have quite flexible configuration functionality that we can use.

Next is activity analytics services. We already have our own system for measuring activity in different social networks. And they are also based in ClickUp, which allows us to work with them as well.

If we are talking about discord analytics, it could be TogetherCrew, which also work for free and provide excellent discord analytics.

To summarize. Why should we use you specifically? And what are your advantages over other competitors.

Next, it’s the fact of the requested funding. Can you explain in more detail what’s included in the $6,000 and also the $3,000? Like x for this, x for that.

And lastly you mentioned your experience, I’d like to read more about you. Perhaps you can provide some personal references.

Thank you!

Thanks a lot for the proposal.

After reviewing the complete proposal I have a few queries:

  1. As @0x_yasshhh

What do these operations include? I can understand database and management but is there any other stuff?

Since it was launched 1 week ago (Congratulations on that), battle testing is still left which will include managing the database and functioning as intended. So, what are the factors/reports that make you confident about managing the community of more than 200 advocates + DAO members + Governane on-chain?

Is this governance referred to as the Proposals?
=> If yes, then will it be on-chain?
=> => If yes, will it have a gasless experience? if no, how is this more beneficial than the current forum?
=> If no, will you please elaborate on it or provide some resources to check about this functionality?

Since, these tasks are on-chain and so the payment for their completion, how will the payment tokens be transferred?
=> Is there any escrow contract or some other contract? if yes, can we check that contract?

I hope my questions make sense to you and the DAO. Apologies if something is mistreated or understood.

I read through all of it. I think the ask of $20k is too much because as you said the private beta just launched a week ago. There are no real time metrics to measure the success.

  1. Hosting 2-3 twitter sessions are not enough for the engagement.
  2. There is no info on what 1000 tasks? Who will do it? Advocates or your team? If advocates do it, then I don’t see any current need.

Why not use preexisting all-in-one solutions? Zealy sounds a good option.

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

This week, we onboarded several projects with their ambassadors. Our idea is to expand Graph Advocates program by creating its page on Talentum and generating tasks that demand active participation. Graph DAO admins will then be able to assess task completion quality and pay accordingly.

By adopting this approach, we can pinpoint the top ambassadors on the platform and directly engage them for more challenging tasks in the future.

The funds will be utilized for rewarding ambassadors, managers who create and assess tasks, as well as covering operational costs. If task creation and assessment will be on your side, the funding amount will be significantly reduced (from $20k to $5k from which $3k is the reward pool).

Thank you for your feedback!

You can use our platform in two ways:

  1. As a convenient all-in-one tool for your current ambassadors and program managers
  2. As a platform for discovering new ambassadors for your program

Thank you for your interest!

When considering advantages over competitors, I would like to highlight two points:

  1. We offer all the features that our competitors have, and even more, all in one place. This leads to a greater experience & more effective collaboration. Let me share the competitors matrix (Talentum competitors comparison - Google Drive) for you to closely examine the feature comparison.
  2. While we have options for everyone, we specifically focus on experts. We differentiate them from others based on Directions, Levels, and Quality Points. Therefore, if you assign tasks to a higher-level expert with the selected expertise, you can expect valuable results. This approach also reduces the time managers spend on task checks. Instead of evaluating 10000 results, most of which are copy-pasted, you can select the top 10 performers, reward them accordingly, and only review their work.

Regarding the funds, as I mentioned earlier, it will be utilized for rewarding ambassadors, managers who create and assess tasks, as well as covering operational costs. If task creation and assessment will be on your side, the funding amount will be significantly reduced (from $20k to $5k from which $3k is the reward pool).

As a new member here, I cannot respond to three other members until someone replies to one of my previous messages.

Greetings!

The presentation of the project will be in the public-voice-chat channel on the Graph AdvocatesDAO Discord server on September 5th at 10:00 UTC. Entrance is open and everyone is welcome to come in and ask their questions during the presentation!

Thanks everyone for your attention!

  3. Thank you! As mentioned earlier, we have onboarded several projects with their ambassador pools. This allows you to select the best from all of them.

  4. We have not yet fully implemented on-chain governance so far, but it is already in development. Therefore, we are talking about the tools that involve users in the governance process by rewarding them with credits on the platform or tokens.

  5. Our platform verifies whether the user has completed the on-chain task by checking their on-chain activity. Verification is gas-free, so users don’t need to pay anything for this on Talentum. The activities themselves are performed on the project website/app and users are fully responsible for these actions.

Thank you!

The turnkey program costs $20k, which covers task creation and assessment by our managers. If you handle these tasks yourself, the grant amount can be reduced to $5k from which $3k allocated as rewards for ambassadors.

  1. We can definitely discuss numbers. This is only our proposal, and we are open to any changes.
  2. You have the choice between both options. You can decide which one suits you best.

Please review the feature comparison between Talentum and its main competitors in relation to the Zealy option:

Following our talk about Dework on the call:
Dework offers a robust Web3 project management tool tailored mostly for DAOs and is deeply integrated with Discord. While its functionalities are well-suited for technical tasks and some geek-oriented assignments, it may not cater to broader marketing tasks. On the other hand, Talentum’s toolkit is more suited to marketing activities rather than freelancers’ specific tasks, but the two are not mutually exclusive. Depending on your focus, either platform may serve your needs, but for marketing-centric initiatives, Talentum might be the better fit.

The majority decision of the Grant Committee concludes to not recommend this proposal for DAO funding. Please recognize that this is not a statement on the proposal itself, but rather an aggregated reflection by committee members taking into account a number of factors, such as alignment to The Graph and web3 ecosystem, budget available to support grants and prioritization relative to other proposed grants.

Below you find brief feedback brought up within the committee to not recommend DAO funding that may help you to submit successful grant applications in the future:

At this stage, what the grant proposal is proposing and trying to solve is already in place and actively working in the DAO. The tasks are checked and grants for advocates are successfully fulfilled, if the quality of work is appropriate.

If we are talking about a unified platform, it does not make sense at this stage, as the processes that are responsible for the operational part of the DAO are quite successful and will not require the involvement of additional tools or platforms.

Thank you for submitting this proposal, and you are encouraged to stay engaged in the Graph community. You are also welcome to submit new grant applications in the future with proposals that may generate stronger support from the committee.

Sincerely,
Graph AdvocatesDAO
