Grant Proposal: Quidli

Grant ID: 8685frc01

Summary:

We propose to you to build a light integration of The Graph to Quidli by adding GRT to our API and hosted app environment. This will enable you to seamlessly distribute GRT tokens as rewards to the top active participants in your community directly in your Slack or Discord.
In addition to helping you internally share GRT tokens within your ecosystem, this integration lets us offer GRT to our user base of 1000+ organizations as an option via Quidli’s open token platform.

Once completed, $GRT token will be available as an option on:

  1. Quidli web app
  2. Quidli Slack app
  3. Quidli Discord app
  4. Any subsequent integrations built by Quidli

Describe what your project does or is aiming to do in 50 characters or less:
Quidli is a micro on-ramp connecting Web 2.0 apps and web3 assets for you to embed crypto rewards and incentives into your collaboration workflows to boost participation and motivation.
We enables you to recognize your top contributors natively in your Slack and or Discord, and is mainly used today by community managers who want to leverage community engagement on social media.

How far along are you?:
Our product is live. You can see our product walkthrough and user journey here: Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording Software | Loom

Why did you pick this idea to work on? Do you have domain expertise in this area? How do you know people need what you’re making?:

Our mission is to offer a composable and user-friendly tool for organizations to use, share and access crypto/web3 as micro-rewards with little-to-no friction.

Today there are 700+ organizations using Quidli, with the majority not having/using their own token. Once your token is available on Quidli, it will be available as an option to these teams. We believe this integration can boost your token visibility to new holders.

Quidli users include the community teams NEAR Foundation, ETHDenver, OrangeDAO, iExec, Tezos, and Solana Foundation.

What’s new about what you’re making? What substitutes do people resort to because it doesn’t exist yet (or they don’t know about it)?:
At Quidli, the issue we want to tackle is helping online communities, digital organizations boost members engagement natively in the tools that everyone is already using like slack and discord for example.
We think this is important because:
• Community is, in particular in Web3, really thrives on the engagement of their members. It’s a cornerstone of any ecosystem growth, especially in crypto.
• It really helps with accessibility issue, we want more new people to enter the space rather than you know, people farming token and airdrop, things like that. The approach we’re taking at Quidli we’d like to call it micro-on-ramps where we injecte those token rails into the apps you’re using.

What’s your vision for how your project will impact The Graph and/or web3?:
• Increase community engagement and retain your top contributors, make them feel they are the most valuable asset by rewarding them and recognize their work.

• Rely on community members referrals as your first source of acquisition and rewards in GRT them for their contribution.

• Use Quidli metrics in order to better understand how to build a better community on Discord.

How will you measure success?:
Number of transactions in GRT, number of active users, leaderboards.

What milestones will you achieve in the coming weeks/months, with or without the grant?:

Why are you interested in contributing to The Graph and/or web3?:
Through this initial partnership, we’d like to help The Graph build an awesome community and ecosystem by enabling you to effectively boost community engagement using token incentives. Sharing more tokens with community members can help you to establish a positive alignment flywheel leading to more contributions and ultimately growth towards your main mission and objectives.

Quidli can also help increase number of GRT new holders: Quidli is used by 1100+ organizations today, and we experienced >$3m in transaction volume over past 12 months.
Our platform has a majority of Web2 companies, in particular freelance companies (for example: Flexiple) which use Quidli as a means of payment and rewards for their freelancers (bonus, % of salary). We also work with web3 incubators (Consensus, dlab) who use Quidli on their internal slack server to encourage the founders and start-ups in their portfolio to create a community spirit.

Hello Quidli team,

In September 2022 and February 2023 this proposal was deferred to the Graph Foundation. As this is the third time you’ve proposed this to Graph AdvocatesDAO, I am wondering if you’ve seen these comments?

Thank you for submitting your proposal. After review of the content, this appears to be a protocol grant application and is therefore not within the scope of community grants that the Graph AdvocatesDAO oversees.

You can submit your proposal directly to the Graph Foundation following this link: The Graph: Grants Application . Good luck!
