Summary:

We are Octaloop, a team of crypto enthusiasts organizing blockchain events since 2016. Over the years, we have successfully conducted meetups, hackathons, and conferences attracting thousands of attendees. Besides our annual India Blockchain Tour, where we visit India’s biggest Web3 hubs to engage its communities, we hosted the nation’s largest-ever crypto gathering last year, Metamorphosis.

This year, we’re thrilled to announce our upcoming events:

Metamorphosis Dubai on 19-20 October

Metamorphosis India (Delhi and Bangalore) in November and December respectively

How far along are you?:
We conducted IBT events in Six cities over the last months. a series of events aimed at engaging communities in India’s most prominent Web3 hubs, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata.

Graph Advocates DAO were co-sponsors of the India Blockchain Tour.

Why did you pick this idea to work on? Do you have domain expertise in this area? How do you know people need what you’re making?:
We are a team of crypto enthusiasts that have organized blockchain events since 2016, successfully conducting meetups, hackathons, and conferences attracting thousands of attendees. We’ve helped some of the most recognizable brands in Web3 achieve their marketing goals, including NEAR, Bitget, 1inch, Poloniex, Polkadot, CoinMarketCap, and Cosmos, to name a few.

What’s new about what you’re making? What substitutes do people resort to because it doesn’t exist yet (or they don’t know about it)?:
The blockchain industry is heavily community-driven, but most crypto conferences are just speaker sessions and snacks. At Octaloop, we take pride in our events being fun, memorable, and most importantly, a catalyst for dialogue between projects and the communities they serve.

Having a space where your questions can’t be ignored, where experts can get their point across without their expertise being questioned, isn’t just important for the success of individual projects, but for the long-term growth of the Web3 industry as a whole.

What’s your vision for how your project will impact The Graph and/or web3?:
Metamorphosis serves as a watering hole for the blockchain community, where projects find opportunities to collaborate, onboard users, and grow, while attendees get the chance to explore the industry’s latest innovations. It’s a celebration of everything crypto, and we want to celebrate you.

How will you measure success?:
As mentioned above, our goal is to foster a dialogue between projects and communities, and promote blockchain technology to the masses. For us, success is ensuring your brand gets the exposure it deserves, while providing Web3 communities with the chance to interact with innovative projects and the people that run them.

Why are you interested in contributing to The Graph and/or web3?:
There is an information asymmetry problem in the blockchain industry. At Octaloop, one of our biggest goals is to educate the masses on the benefits of blockchain technology. However, obtaining reliable information is tough in an industry filled with misinformation and FUD. We found The Graph’s mission to organize blockchain data, making it more accessible to the masses, in alignment with our own vision for the future of Web3.

You have included in the application many information related with the next milestones but according to the information provided the amount required is only for Metamorphosis Delhi, is that correct?
You have included the Silver sponsorship. It is possible to have a different tier?

In your breakdown of requested funding, you mentioned various components like keynote speakers, booth space, branding, promotions, and more. Could you provide specific examples of how these elements have contributed to the success of your previous events or how they will enhance the upcoming Metamorphosis events?
Also, is the silver sponsorship name related to tiers? is there a lower/higher one?

Hello,

Thank you for submitting your community grant application. Just to confirm, would the $10,000 requested would cover all three events (one in each of October, November, and December)?

Also, in your budget breakdown I see:

  • Influencer promotions - $2500
  • VIP entry 2 - $1000

Can you provide a bit more detail on what these two line items consist of?

That is correct. The amount of $10k is required for Metamorphosis Delhi only. The Silver sponsorship is priced at $15k. We’ve reduced it down to $10k for Graph because of your participation in our India Blockchain Tour from May to August 2023. Yes, it’s still possible for you to choose a different tier. The more perks there are for the sponsors, the better coverage they get at the event. With a speaking session, dedicated booth at the event, branding placements everywhere, promotions with our media partners and KOLs, Graph will be poised to get a lot of exposure among the attendees who show up for Metamorphosis Delhi. Since the promotions began way ahead of time, crypto users in India will also be targeted with ads and social media posts regarding Graph’s involvement with Metamorphosis.
In the past we’ve had Poloneix, Bitcasino, 1inch, Near Protocol that opted for similar tier sponsorship. We were able to fulfil all their KPIs whether it be increasing their follower count or getting them users or even just brand awareness in India.

The reason why we suggested this tier is due to Graph’s fund allocation constraints. We discounted our 15k Silver tier to $10 since graph also participated in our India Blockchain Tour.

The $10k sponsorship is for Metamorphosis Delhi only. We’ve discounted our $15k Silver sponsorship for Graph because they participated in our India Blockchain Tour as well this year. All the perks’ prices you see add up to $15k.

Influencer Promotion: we’re partnered with many KOLs in India who will be covering our flagship event Metamorphosis Delhi. We will make sure they talk about Graph with their audience and educate them on what Graph does etc. We’ll also have local Graph advocates come in who will be interviewed by these KOLs as well. These videos will not only be promoted on Octaloop’s socials but also various KOL’s socials as well.

VIP entry 2: Two local Graph advocates will get a VIP entry which basically means access to the entire event and the exclusive invite-only afterparty

What are the KPIs you will achieve with the Delhi event?

How many attendees will be attending and can you briefly tell the diversity of the audience like newbies, technical, enthusiasts?

Why are we paying for the VIP tickets if we already sponsor?

Who are the prospects for the influencer promotions?

Hello!

Due to the complexities associated with large-scale sponsorships for conferences and hackathons, members of the Graph AdvocatesDAO have established a new team - The Events Team.

I will be closing this grant proposal as the newly formed team will assume responsibility for the review process of this proposal.

Just like the India Blockchain Tour, the KPIs will be brand awareness of Graph and onboarding more and more users onto Graph ecosystem. Local Graph advocates who come at the event will get a chance to interact with 1500+ attendees and pitch Graph and its offerings. Since there will be a separate booth for Graph, it makes it more convenient for attendees to get to know more about the project.

We’re expecting for 1500+ attendees at Metamorphosis Delhi. The rough ratio is: 40% devs, 20% active crypto traders, 20% CXOs of crypto projects, 15% Web3 professionals, 5% newbies to crypto (who bought crypto during the last bull run). Over 98% of people who come to our events have purchased crypto in the past.

2 VIP tickets are included in the sponsor package which we’re offering at a discounted price to Graph.

We have local KOL partners that we work with on a regular basis. A lot of them have also come to our past events. You can find some of them in the video I’d sent earlier. They cover Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube for us.
