From Ethereum Colombia, we invite you to support the Hackathon ETHColombia 2023 through sponsorship. This space is an opportunity to promote the adoption and advancement of blockchain technology in our region.

The event, which will be held in the fourth quarter of the year in Bogotá, seeks to bring together the developer community around exciting challenges within the Ethereum ecosystem and layer two (L2) technologies. We expect to have around 100 developers willing to form teams and face these challenges.

As a sponsor, your support is vital to the Hackathon and plays an important role in the growth of the Ethereum community in Colombia. In addition, it is a unique opportunity to interact with talented developers and make your brand known in the blockchain sector.

If you were at Devcon last year, you surely knew Colombia, one of the most biodiverse places in the world. This year during Q4 the ethereum colombia community will hold its first Hackathon and wants to count on your support

How far along are you?:

Why did you pick this idea to work on? Do you have domain expertise in this area? How do you know people need what you’re making?:
We had already developed 2 hackathons but they were not official eth Colombia, they were made in alliance with other communities. We have the experience and the team to carry out the event.

What’s new about what you’re making? What substitutes do people resort to because it doesn’t exist yet (or they don’t know about it)?:
We know the impact that blockchain technology can have for all of Latin America, for this reason we decided that this Hackathon would focus on impact solutions. We look for technology to be used to solve problems in different sectors such as Finance, environment and others.

What’s your vision for how your project will impact The Graph and/or web3?:
The Graph is a key piece in any solution that seeks to have an impact, so we would like to have your support. The direct benefit for you is in the growth of the community, but indirectly from an event of this type, solutions with high scalability for the ecosystem can emerge.

At this moment we are in the pre-registration phase for hackers and getting sponsors for the development of the event, in October the hackathon will take place within the framework of the blockchain Summit Latam

Can you share any information about current/past web3 experience?:
If you were at devcon and you went through the Chiva (house of LATAM communities) You can take a clear image of what our event will be.

As official representatives of ethereum in Colombia we have a lot of experience developing local events that help promote awareness and adoption of web technology 3

Why are you interested in contributing to The Graph and/or web3?:
If we want this hackathon to be consolidated by looking for impactful solutions, it is necessary to have a protocol like The Graph that allows us to build highly scalable solutions

Glad to read your proposal, and thanks for taking the time to apply for the grant. I have a few questions to clarify the situation:

What are the criteria for judging the hackathon projects? It is interesting to know the answer to this question in more detail. Do you plan to invite any of the advocates for this?

Who are the potential participants in the hackathon? How will the hackathon be accessible to people from all backgrounds? To have a basic understanding of who it is aimed at.

One last question about the budget. Can you tell us in more detail what is included in this 60%, x for this, y for that and so on? Also regarding prizes, how they will be distributed.

Unfortunately, this grant proposal did not generate the level of support in the community to move it to the next phase of the grant application process.
