Grant Proposal: Hackathon ETH Colombia

Grant ID: 86855tm3w

From Ethereum Colombia, we invite you to support the Hackathon ETHColombia 2023 through sponsorship. This space is an opportunity to promote the adoption and advancement of blockchain technology in our region.

The event, which will be held in the fourth quarter of the year in Bogotá, seeks to bring together the developer community around exciting challenges within the Ethereum ecosystem and layer two (L2) technologies. We expect to have around 100 developers willing to form teams and face these challenges.

As a sponsor, your support is vital to the Hackathon and plays an important role in the growth of the Ethereum community in Colombia. In addition, it is a unique opportunity to interact with talented developers and make your brand known in the blockchain sector.

In the attachment, you will find the detailed deck about the ETHColombia Hackathon 2023 and the advantages of being a sponsor. We firmly believe that together we can make this event something truly special.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or need more information. I am here to help you.

Thanks for your time. We look forward to your support and hearing from you soon.

The Hackathon is being developed in a decentralized way, using the Dework platform for the monitoring and management of the activities that conform to the hackathon in the following link you can find out in greater detail about the current status of the hackathon.

Why did you pick this idea to work on? Do you have domain expertise in this area? How do you know people need what you’re making?:
We had already developed 2 hackathons but they were not official eth Colombia, they were made in alliance with other communities. We have the experience and the team to carry out the event.

What’s new about what you’re making? What substitutes do people resort to because it doesn’t exist yet (or they don’t know about it)?:
We know the impact that blockchain technology can have for all of Latin America, for this reason we decided that this Hackathon would focus on impact solutions. We look for technology to be used to solve problems in different sectors such as Finance, environment and others.

What’s your vision for how your project will impact The Graph and/or web3?:

Glad to read your proposal, and thanks for taking the time to apply for the grant. I have a few questions to clarify the situation:

What are the criteria for judging the hackathon projects? It is interesting to know the answer to this question in more detail. Do you plan to invite any of the advocates for this?

Who are the potential participants in the hackathon? How will the hackathon be accessible to people from all backgrounds? To have a basic understanding of who it is aimed at.

One last question about the budget. Can you tell us in more detail what is included in this 60%, x for this, y for that and so on? Also regarding prizes, how they will be distributed.

Thank you!
