We propose to organize a grand celebration in Shenzhen, China, on December 16, 2023, to commemorate the third anniversary of the official launch of The Graph decentralized network. The event will serve as a platform to bring The Graph community and Developers together to foster a sense of unity and excitement for the future of decentralized data indexing and infrastructure.

How far along are you?:
We already booked a venue and invited guest members (The Graph Advocate and devs from our WeChat groups). We also hosted the event in Xiamen Before

Why did you pick this idea to work on? Do you have domain expertise in this area? How do you know people need what you’re making?:

We already hosted this kind of event before, and Iris and lot’s of devs came, I think this event will help our Devs to know our update and Ecosystem deeper.

What’s new about what you’re making? What substitutes do people resort to because it doesn’t exist yet (or they don’t know about it)?:
In the planning and implementation of Web3 activities, We are creating original Web3 courses to improve my core competitiveness, and I have a lot of Web3 devs in Shenzhen who have the ability to give live lectures on professional knowledge.

What’s your vision for how your project will impact The Graph and/or web3?:
Let more people truly understand the actual scenarios of The Graph, improve user awareness, enhance user stickiness, and also make a better contribution to The Graph’s PR work in China.

How will you measure success?:
1: More devs to join Advocates Program and The Graph Official discrod to contribute the Ecosystem.

2: More people know the Graph latest update and join the Ecosystem to build tools, Community

What milestones will you achieve in the coming weeks/months, with or without the grant?:
I am always responsible for the China community and building several tutorial and courses for them, and will join several hackathons and events to attract more devs to join the Ecosystem

Since I am data engineer and solidity dev, I like the vision of The Graph, want to contribute to build the decentralized data infrastructure together.

  1. Event Content and Speakers: Who are the key speakers and what topics will they cover at the event? How will these topics benefit the attendees, especially in understanding The Graph and its ecosystem?
  2. Audience Engagement: What strategies do you plan to implement to engage the audience, both during and after the event? How will you ensure active participation and interaction among the attendees?
  3. Marketing and Promotion: How do you plan to market the event to attract the targeted number of developers and community members? What channels will you use for promotion?

1: We will share The Graph’s latest updates and ecosystem and how to develop Subgraph also how to join The Graph Ecosytem to help more devs onboard to contribute in this Ecosystem.

2: We already built the China The Graph community since 2021, and we have 332 devs in our WeChat Group for now, we also has lot’s of networking resources in Shenzhen, will expand the news to several resources to reach the maximum community

3: We will have the feedback sheet and let them fill into to collect and improve for the future event

1: We will invite some devs from different web3 projects, and some devs from our WeChat Group. the topic will be Deploy Subgraph and the use cases to onboard them to join The Graph Ecosystem.

2: We already built the China The Graph community since 2021, and we have 332 devs in our WeChat Group for now, we also has lot’s of networking resources in Shenzhen, will expand the news to several resources to reach the maximum community, I think this also can answer bullet point 3

4: The metrics will be 1) new advocates apply 2) new devs join the Wechat group 3) new devs join the Ecosystem

5: Shenzhen has lot’s of high talented devs there, that’s why we choose Shenzhen

Thanks for the application! My only two questions are:

  • Why is there a food and beverage line item ($1,000) and also a dinner cost. Can you provide more details on the difference there?
  • And is the “gift fee” basically SWAG or is it something else?

1: The event will begin at 13:00 for signing in, and they can take the food and beverage and will end at 20:00, they can take the dinner for networking.

2: This will be SWAG and T-shirt and we will distribute to them.
