Summary:

ETHBratislava 2024 emerges as the first-ever Ethereum event and hackathon in Slovakia, uniting a passionate community engaged in the Ethereum ecosystem its technology stack, governance, and economics opportunities. This event serves as an experimental playground for delving into the vast potential of Ethereum and its novel use cases and the sharing place of the most exciting ideas in the space.

As the first of its kind in Slovakia, this two-day hackathon and conference bring together brilliant minds and Ethereum enthusiasts to learn, share knowledge, and create new friendships between communities of builders, enthusiasts, protocols, and beyond.

Our excitement for ETHBratislava is amplified by the ETHBratislava Hackathon, which promises two days of relentless creativity and collaboration, attracting some of the brightest minds in the field to lab test ideas and crack the tasks of the most renowned projects in space in the sponsored hackathon.

Describe what your project does or is aiming to do in 50 characters or less:
ETHBratislava is the first-ever Ethereum community event in Slovakia. ETHBratislava is set to welcome 250-300 participants from ethereum and wider crypto community, but also representatives from fields of finance, regulators, or education, primarily from Slovakia and close neighboring countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland). The event will bring together a diverse ecosystem from developers, business strategists to policy advisors, creating an exciting environment within the Ethereum ecosystem.

How far along are you?:
We have acquired first initial partners, (e.g. Ethereum foundation and ETH communities and renowned Layer 2 blockchain providers) and we would love to ask you whether you would be interested in partnering up with for the event and joining us on supporting local community, ecosystem and builders.

Why did you pick this idea to work on? Do you have domain expertise in this area? How do you know people need what you’re making?:
We have decided to throw the first ever ETHBratislava after seeing a gap in the community events area, as there are currently only very few meet-ups with very limited scope. After testing out the concept on our pop-up events, galeries and most recently a conference we have dediced to go big.

Enter ETHBratislava, first-ever Ethereum conference in Slovakia filing the void for Ethereum event not only locally, but also for fellow friends from Austria, Hungary and Ukraine and great addition to community initiatives by our partners from ETHWarsaw and ETHPrague.

What’s new about what you’re making? What substitutes do people resort to because it doesn’t exist yet (or they don’t know about it)?:
ETHBratislava is innaugural event.

What’s your vision for how your project will impact The Graph and/or web3?:
We would love to bring The Graph to the spotlight and give you a speaking opportunuty to reach out to your community, contributors and key industry players. You physical presence at the venue would also boost your brand recognition in the region and could lead to higher user/client acquistion rates.

How will you measure success?:
By numbers of attendees, wallet interactions with The Graph’s smart contract of choice by the attendees (each ticket represents an NFT)

What milestones will you achieve in the coming weeks/months, with or without the grant?:
Increased recognition of Graph’s brand, creating a local presence for future growth and/or new out of the box solutions discovered in our hackathon.

Details about our team

Slavo is a Product Manager, Fintech expert with a strong background in Web3 and tokenization. Slavo has actively participated in numerous Ethereum events over the last two years, worked on tokenize.it with one of early Ethereum contributors Christoph Jentzsch. He also played a significant role in organizing ETH Munich in August, showcasing his skills in managing large-scale industry events.

Martin is an experienced crypto lawyer and strategic advisor specializing in DAO governance and crypto regulatory matters. Besides his professional involvement in the crypto space, he is also an active member of Blockchain Slovakia, the NGO focused on educating of wider public on opportunities of blockchain technology, and an advisor to the National Bank of Slovakia and National Bank of Austria on the privacy-centric techniques for digital euro and regulatory policy implementation. In cooperation with Michaela, they organized a popular web3 event - Chain3, which took place during Prague Blockchain Week, which attracted more than fellow 15,000 crypto enthusiasts to the capital city of Czechia, Prague. Martin’s expertise and community-oriented events allowed him to gather a vast network of kindred web3 disruptors beneficial for further outreach and collaborations.

Damian is our design magician and longterm web3 tinkerer. He is interested mostly in intersections of blockchain technology and arts and web3 implementation into consumer applications. Damian is also popular culture fanatic and producent.

Michaela is a business development professional, digital marketer, and early crypto adopter. She enjoys a hands-on approach while teaching newcomers to crypto and together with Martin launched a series of pop-up NFT gallery events and a weekly educational newsletter.

Together, Slavo, Martin, Damian, and Michaela bring a blend of technical expertise, strategic and legal knowledge, and event management experience to the table, backed by their extensive networks in the CEE crypto and local crypto communities with one goal, to host a first-ever Slovak Ethereum conference and hackathon.

Why are you interested in contributing to The Graph and/or web3?:
Because our values and visions for the future of the etherereum ecosystem alighn with the vision of product of the Graph. In addition to this we are proud community participants.

After careful consideration and review of the current commitments and resources, I regret to inform you that the DAO is unable to accommodate your event request.
