Grant Proposal: CarbonarAI

Grant ID: 86860ryze

Summary:

CarbonarAI is a web-based tool designed to simplify the decision-making process for users by providing them with a user-friendly interface to query on-chain data from various blockchains. It employs advanced AI and Machine Learning algorithms to offer a natural language interface, making it easier for users to interact with and extract information from blockchains, notably utilizing BitTensor and The Graph technologies.

Key Features:

Friendly Web Interface: The project offers a user-friendly web interface that enables users to interact with on-chain data without the need for deep technical knowledge. This user interface is designed to make querying blockchain data as simple and intuitive as possible.

AI and Machine Learning Integration: CarbonarAI employs advanced AI and Machine Learning algorithms to interpret and process user queries. These technologies enable the system to understand and respond to natural language queries, making the process of retrieving data from the blockchain more accessible to a broader range of users.

Blockchain Data Extraction: The system is integrated with BitTensor and The Graph, two powerful tools for extracting information from various blockchains. This integration allows CarbonarAI to access and retrieve data from blockchain networks efficiently.

Natural Language Interface: One of the primary goals of CarbonarAI is to eliminate the need for users to have extensive knowledge of GraphQL or other blockchain-specific query languages. Users can ask questions in plain, natural language, and the system interprets these queries, retrieves the relevant data from the blockchain, and presents it in a user-friendly format.

Use Cases:

Financial Analysis: CarbonarAI can be used for financial analysis, helping users track and analyze transactions, token movements, and other financial data on the blockchain.

Market Research: Researchers and analysts can leverage CarbonarAI to gather market data and trends from various blockchain networks.

Blockchain Exploration: Users interested in exploring blockchain data can do so easily and intuitively through the web interface.

Decision Support: CarbonarAI can assist decision-makers by providing timely and relevant information from the blockchain, helping them make informed choices.

Describe what your project does or is aiming to do in 50 characters or less:
Help and enable decision-making mechanisms using a user-friendly interface that via AI enables seamless interaction with on-chain data

If available, please enter a link to your project below:

How far along are you?:
During ETHRome Hackaton we stated the project and created a working POC. It could use a complete UI makeover and a some optimization in the backend.
At the moment it’s just a POC and there is work needed before it could be production ready.

Why did you pick this idea to work on? Do you have domain expertise in this area? How do you know people need what you’re making?:
The team behind the project consists of Ivan Sala, CTO of a company that deals with AI among other things, and Andrea Ciceri dev ops with years of experience.
We chose to develop this project during ethrome because we believe that AI has reached a point of maturity such that it can give a boost to the user experience. Today in the web3 world this can be improved. Everyone has the need and the right to access data (from The Graph) but few have the knowledge to do so. Through our tool, access will be democratized and everyone will be able to access information simply through natural language.

What’s new about what you’re making? What substitutes do people resort to because it doesn’t exist yet (or they don’t know about it)?:
We integrate AI with Subgraph tech, allowing everyone to query with natural language on chain informations. Today developers need to create custom dashboard for each subgraph, but using AI this could be automatized.

What’s your vision for how your project will impact The Graph and/or web3?:
Our project will empower the ecosystem giving a new way to query and visualize onchain data simplifying the process and generalizing it. Developers won’t need to create multiple custom dashboards and users will be able to simply access data.

How will you measure success?:
We will measure success when we achieve a complete working prototype that can be released and used by the public.

The main goal is to engage the community to then move even forward the project.

What milestones will you achieve in the coming weeks/months, with or without the grant?:
The upcoming milestones for CarbonarAI, whether with or without a grant, are critical for the project’s development and success. These milestones include:

M1 - New Working UI: Developing and implementing a new and improved user interface is essential for enhancing the user experience. The new UI should be more intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing, making it easier for users to interact with the system.

M1 - Deterministic User Prompt Evaluation: Achieving a deterministic user prompt evaluation means enhancing the system’s ability to understand and interpret user queries consistently and accurately. This is a fundamental component of providing a natural language interface and ensuring that users receive the information they seek.

M2 - Querying Any Subgraph Given User Input: Enabling the system to query any subgraph based on user input is a key functionality. This feature enhances the flexibility and versatility of CarbonarAI, allowing users to access a wide range of blockchain data without needing advanced technical knowledge.

M3 - Ability to Plot Charts: Adding the capability to plot charts is essential for visualizing data and trends extracted from the blockchain. Users can gain insights more easily when they can visualize data through charts and graphs.

These milestones are essential for the project’s progression and the achievement of its primary objectives. Whether or not a grant is secured, these milestones will drive the development and improvement of CarbonarAI, making it a more powerful and user-friendly tool for decision-making and blockchain data analysis.

Please select who you think will benefit from your project?:
Curators, Other, Delegators, Subgraph Developers

How much funding are you looking for? (USD):
15500

Provide a breakdown of your requested funding:
2500 USDC - Upfront development cost

M1
2500 USDC - UI/UX specialist - review and development cost
2500 USDC - AI Expert - review and development cost

M2
2500 USDC - The Graph specialist - review and development cost

M3
2500 USDC - UI/UX specialist - review and development cost
3000 USDC - Senior Web3 Developer - review and development cost

Have you applied for (or already received) funding from somewhere else?:
No

If yes, please describe where you’ve received funding from and how much you have, or will, receive:
We did not apply for funding but we won a grant from The Graph @ ETHRome2023 (750$).

Can you share any information about current/past web3 experience?:
We have different experiences in the web3 world, only this year we participated in several hackathons (ethglobal lisbon, ethglobal paris, ethrome) always winning several bounties attesting our competence.
In addition, the team has been contributing for years to the ethereansos project, to the development of the Cardano infrastructure, and to Cartesi Project.

We have expertise spanning the entire web3 world.

Why are you interested in contributing to The Graph and/or web3?:
Making access to data free is a fundamental right, and we think our project can incentivize the use of the graph, which already makes data available but in a form that is difficult to access.
Through our platform, anyone will be able to access onchain information.

Are you applying as a team or individual?:

Hey there! thanks for submitting this, so i read your proposal and it seems to be a tooling grant to me.

You can submit your proposal from this link to the Graph Foundation(if @doxe01.eth confirms it as a tooling grant):

Greetings!

Thank you for submitting your proposal. After review of the content, this appears to be a tooling grant application and is therefore not within the scope of community grants that the Graph AdvocatesDAO oversees.

You can submit your proposal directly to the Graph Foundation following this link: The Graph: Grants Application. Good luck!

And yeah @asadus16 you are correct
