Grant Proposal: WEB3DEV

Grant ID: 2x0hmww

Summary:

WEB3DEV is the largest and most engaged web3 developers community in LATAM.

We already have a Discord with more than 3,000 developers: https://bit.ly/w3b3d3v/ Our community is organized in pods, each pod for a different web3 technology. Each pod has a leader, which helps that pod to evolve, promoting growth to the ecosystem and the whole web3dev community.

We already have leaders for Ethereum, Cardano, NEAR, Algorand, Solana, Helium. We incentivize those pods, creating bounties and paying individual contributors when they create new technical content and deliver value to the community

What’s your vision for how your project will impact The Graph and/or web3?:
There are thousands of great developers and data scientists in Brazil eager to learn new technologies like The Graph, but English-only content is still a limitation. We are building a developers community for web3 technologies in Latin America. We engage people not only to translate English content but also produce original content for specific blockchain technologies.

We have limited resources to invest on a broad creation of content for specific technolgoies, so this partnership could accelerate the adoption of The Graph in Brazilian crypto startups and projects.

Project deliverables
6 months of ongoing content creation:

  • 30 videos ~10-20 min duration - at least 5 videos per month
  • 30 text articles ~1000-2000 words - at least 5 articles per month
  • Advertising content for our audience in the most effective way, including posts on our Twitter, Instagram, Discord and LinkedIn

Videos and text are technical content, including tutorials and
architecture presentations. Any code presented will be available on github as open source and free to use. This deliverables include pre-production, recording, editing, copywriting and advertising the created content in our channels media (website, mailing, Discord server, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram)

What can you share about any past work that is relevant to this grant?:
We already published 300 technical articles that attract an audience of more than 4,000 page views per day. The community has more than 50 individual content creators that produced hundreds of videos, articles, and translations. The community also has market specialists, designers and copywriters that work constantly to make the content accessible to a broader audience of developers.

We expect to have 10,000 developers in our community by the end of 2022. We expect to reach at least 1,000 of them with specific The Graph technologies content, some of them being able to work and deliver value on real projects using The Graph.

Can you share any information about current/past web3 experience?:
Daniel Cukier

Why are you interested in contributing to The Graph and/or web3?:
Our objective is to bring thousands of web2 developers to the web3 world. Brazil is the biggest economy in Latin America and has thousands of high talent developers. When more Brazilian developers have the tools to build innovative solutions, The Graph can be used to solve different problems in Brazil such as agro-business green certification, forest devastation, environmental issues, better wealth distribution and hunger.
