Grant Proposal: MeetWawa Web3 Comics

Grant ID: 3ehvhfu

We are on a mission to explain and educate Web3/DeFi to newcomers in the space! MeetWawa aims to bring mass adoption through our cute and creative comics.

What’s your vision for how your project will impact The Graph and/or web3?:
Our team aims to help grow The Graph and its social presence through posting educational comics and content on various social media channels.

Since we’re currently in a bear market, we expect to attract retail back to the space within 6 - 12 months. The project is currently in the building phase. As we are previously not funded, we tend to cover topics that we find interesting.

What can you share about any past work that is relevant to this grant?:

Can you share any information about current/past web3 experience?:
We are a team of writers, producers, illustrators and editors from different backgrounds. The team has been writing and producing content individually for various companies but decided to come together to make simple Web3 comics for the mass crypto audience. We have been making comics for almost 9 months and are recently open to taking paid commissions.

Why are you interested in contributing to The Graph and/or web3?:
We are interested in contributing to The Graph and the entire Web3 space as we believe in the vision of decentralization and having access and control over your own assets. Because of that, we would like to educate others who often find Web3 too complicated and thus prefer not to venture in.

As an open-source indexer for Web3, we believe that The Graph can help onboard the masses as it would allow users to locate indexed information quickly in this fast-growing space, which aligns with our vision.

Thanks for applying for a Grant and I already know your content since I follow you on Twitter, you do a great job in explaining complex things in an easy way, through comics.

In order to understand better your project for The Graph, how many ‘stories’ you would create and do you have already topics to cover? (e.g. for Luna I can see in your Notion that you covered at least four topics.)

So my questions are:

  • can you outline how many stories and which content you plan to develop for The Graph?
  • how many people are in your team?
  • can you provide a cost breakdown for us to understand better how will you use your funds?

Thanks for your submission. Loved the cute Wawa in the comics :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Couple of questions:

-How long would each comic be?
-Who is the target audience?
-Do the rights belong to MeetWawa or would they be exclusively available to the Graph? If so for how long and what terms?
-Will you also publish it on your social media channels? If so, what is your individual reach on each social
-How long will each comic take to be delivered? Will there be drafts of scripts or drawing to show to the DAO before finalization? Can any edits be made?
-What metrics are you tracking in regards to ROI/contributions to the Graph (please be specific both quantitative and qualitative)?

Unfortunately, this grant proposal did not generate the level of support in the community to move it to the next phase of the grant application process.

Thank you for submitting this proposal and you are encouraged to stay engaged in the Graph community. You are also welcome to submit new grant applications in the future with proposals that may generate stronger community support.
