Grant Proposal: Arab community (May 10)

Grant ID: 864em588r

Summary:

One of the largest and most active communities in The Graph is the Arab community.
I do a lot of stuff like writing articles (dozens of articles about The Graph, Web3 and decentralization have been posted on cryptocurrency websites to reach as many people as possible), creating content and guides, Translations ,memes and more.
Note : I have 750+ members on Telegram and 600 on Twitter.
I tweeted nearly 6,000 tweets for The Graph (I tweet in Arabic and English, search people’s questions and answer them).
Note: There are 460 million Arabic speakers (23 countries) and it ranks fourth or fifth in the world.

I was receiving my grant from The Graph Foundation ($2000) and now my contract with them has been cancelled, because they need technical people, and they told me to apply for Advocates, as it is completely suitable for me.

What’s your vision for how your project will impact The Graph and/or web3?:
My project educates people about Web 3 and the importance of The Graph, as it is the backbone of Web 3. I have written a lot of articles, I will give you two links as examples.

The first link is:
https://crypto4arabs.com/ar/2022/12/25/كيف-تعمل-شبكة-thegraph/

-How The Graph solves this problem?
-How does The Graph work and what are the main roles in it?
-What is GRT?
-The Graph backed by.

The second link is:
https://crypto-horizon.com/8ufj

And talks about the Advocates and its roles.

Web 3 is the future . It provides us:

  1. Decentralization
  2. Censorship resistance

TheGraph has already established itself as the only decentralized web3 indexing protocol .It is the backbone of Web3.

:point_right: I will add contents about TheGraph and Web3 to Telegram , YouTube, Twitter ,Medium and TiKtok.

:point_right: I will create memes( Some of my previous work)

:point_right: I will translate some YouTube clips of TheGraph channel and add them to my YouTube channel and also publish them in my community.

2/ I did not understand the question very well

I entered in the field of the grant amount “dot” and I meant that you can evaluate it according to my previous performance according to what you see and by comparing the performance of others, taking into account the importance of language, and I will certainly make more effort.

I am a person committed to performing my duties and work sincerely. I play all the roles of an advocate except for the technical thing
Also, I work with integrity
For example: No one asked me to publish dozens of articles on websites specializing in digital currencies, even though that thing cost me almost $2,000 , I could have saved that money but I care about the quality of the work ( Even during the monthly reports, I didn’t tell anyone about it, you’re the first person to know)

And when I translated the entire website of TheGraph into Arabic ,As far as I know, everyone who asked for a reward was given it, but I did not ask for it.

I will do more effort and I will do everything that I wrote above as a minimum.

4/I can do it alone

I am looking forward to your answer!:rose:

Hello Adam, nice to meet you and thank you for the application

Many things you are proposing to do are indeed Advocates contributions, which you can continue doing without having this grant accepted. You haven’t submitted any contribution yet and I encourage you to do it, we can assess the quality of the translations for example and reward you according to the quality provided. I firmly believe that web3 translation isn’t straightforward and requires a lot of time and patience, so translators should be compensated, but according to the difficulty and performance - which we are able to measure in the Advocates Program. The Arabic translation of the Graph’s website is currently at a 33% completion rate and it would be super helpful if you could continue with the translations there as it would bring the most value to the community of Arabic developers.

I think it would be super interesting if you can share some analytics of your website and other social media platforms for that past period of time so we would be able to see how many interactions there were and how the interest of Arabians is shaping over the course of the years since you’ve started.

I don’t know if you checked but we granted another proposal for the Arabic community a couple of months ago. Can you explain how your planned activity on YT or TikTok will complement or extend the work of the grantees there? Or how it would relate to the content and work they’ve managed to put there so far? Grant Proposal: The Graph's Arabic Library

Unfortunately, this grant proposal did not generate the level of support in the community to move it to the next phase of the grant application process.

Thank you for submitting this proposal and you are encouraged to stay engaged in the Graph community. You are also welcome to submit new grant applications in the future with proposals that may generate stronger community support.

Best Regards,
Graph AdvocatesDAO

Note that when TheGraph adds some updates , I translate and summarize them so that the average reader can understand them, I publish them as threads ( I did not add them in my medium)
So my Twitter account contains 6,000 tweets.

Telegram statistics (overview).

And for the Arab community, if you search on Twitter

#GRT lang: ar
$GRT lang: ar

I think you will notice that 90% of the tweets (And that’s for tweets that talk about The Graph, not about prices) belong to the Arab community (GRTARAB)

This is my Twitter account

https://twitter.com/GRTARAB?t=0ZoFercIeFo5Ty3ulDyw6Q&s=09

As for The Graph website (I can translate it fully and in high quality), I have enough information about TheGraph (even if there is a point in English whose explanation is not clear, I can explain it in Arabic)

As for YouTube + TikTok, I can create educational content similar to the content on TheGraph channel, but in Arabic, and add it to my Twitter + Telegram

And if you have any suggestions or additions, I will be happy to hear it and I will definitely do it🌹

If there is a delay in replying, I apologize for that

The reason I’m late is because my dad is in poor health this week (diabetic and had a stroke) and I’m the one taking care of him.

Greetings!

I hope all is well with you father and that all turned out well. For our part, we as DAO will try to find the best way to resolve the situation and resolve it for both sides.

Thank you!

Thank you
I’m glad to hear that🌹

Greetings!

Since DAO support openness and transparency, it makes sense to leave the response in the forum.

The majority decision of the Grant Committee concludes to not recommend this proposal for DAO funding. Please recognize that this is not a statement on the proposal itself, but rather an aggregated reflection by committee members taking into account a number of factors, such as alignment to The Graph and web3 ecosystem, budget available to support grants and prioritization relative to other proposed grants.

Below you find brief feedback brought up within the committee to not recommend DAO funding that may help you to submit successful grant applications in the future:

At this point, the grant has not exactly gathered support from the community. The DAO understands the situation of the grantee and is willing to make concessions, as far as the grant re-submission rule is concerned. But the DAO has also considered the community’s side and the community has not supported this grant proposal as it currently exists.

Thank you for submitting this proposal, and you are encouraged to stay engaged in the Graph community. You are also welcome to submit new grant applications in the future with proposals that may generate stronger support from the committee.

Sincerely,
Graph AdvocatesDAO

I will make more effort, and in the coming days I will apply again.

And if you want to translate TheGraph website into Arabic, I am fully prepared to do so at any time

I want to remind you that you can’t resubmit the same grant proposal for at least 3 months. Otherwise, the grant will be rejected.

Please check your email address for Crowdin invitation to the Graph Translation project. Your support will be highly appreciated! Should you have any problems with the login please reach out in the Text-Translator chat in our discord server, or to any of DAO members directly!
